1st Gangnam-Gu Mayor's Cup Chess Competition
June 25, 2024
In the 1st Gangnam-Gu Mayor’s Cup Chess Competition, Youth Leadership Committee Members led a fundraising campaign to donate chess sets and clocks to South Sudan. With a lot of people’s interest and support, we were able to collect a total of 583,000 KRW (420 USD).

1st Gangnam-Gu Young Talent Chess Camp
The 1st Gangnam-Gu Young Talent Chess Camp had over 15 young participants who wanted to learn chess. In the camp, I taught chess to young children and also played simultaneous chess the children.
2025 Gangnam-gu Hanmaeum Chess Torunament
July 5, 2025
The 2025 Gangnam-gu Hanmaeum Chess Tournament was an event for seniors to learn chess. Planned solely by the Youth Leadership Committee Members, this event was held to root chess into the culture of South Korea as we believe that in order for chess to be rooted inside the culture, chess has to take place within a family. By teaching seniors chess, they would get to play chess with their grandchildren. I taught 20+ seniors in this tournament and we are finding ways to continue this senior chess education program.
1st Gangnam-Gu President's Cup Chess Competition

In the 2nd Gangnam-Gu President's Cup Chess Competition, I presented an yearly report of the activities that the Youth Leadership Committee Members did. Moreover, the members held a fundraising campaign, selling chess sets and donating the profit to South Sudan.
